Big weekend for the Montrose Music Department! Our quartet worked hard all weekend to put on a beautiful concert with 900 students from across the state. We also received an award for having about 80% of our high school involved in music. We are so proud of our students!

The Montrose Music Department is selling MCM Fighting Cougar blankets for their winter fundraiser! Each plush blanket is 60" x 70" and will be $40. Pre-orders and payment are due by Friday November 8th 2024 to ensure delivery before Christmas. These would make great Christmas gifts! Order forms can be returned to Mrs. Hofer or Mrs. Smith. On Monday, 17 Choir memebers represented Montrose at the Big East Conference Honor Choir held in Salem. We are very proud of these singers and the concert they put on!
The 7th grade Ag class has been learning about how to identify pigs. Today they read ear notches to identify all the piglets in the drove.

5th grade has been learning about aspects of plants, including how they gain matter as well as components a plant needs for growth. In this experiment, they were finding different ways to measure pumpkins to determine the amount of matter they contain. Hands-on learning with a fall theme! 🎃

Montrose Oral Interp attended the Big East Conference Tournament in Sioux Valley on October 14th. Awards were also given for the top six in each category. Kaydence placed 3rd in Poetry!

Animal Science class will be working hard in the next couple weeks to prepare our two hives of honey bees for winter.
The marching band festival on Friday October 4th, 2024 will be live streamed on the Chester Area School Facebook page. Parade will start at 10 am and Montrose is the 7th group to perform. There are 22 bands total that will represent their respective schools and music programs with a great day of music!
